These are of my friend Shannon. I got really lucky with the light, for about 10 minutes it was incredible.

I really like the second one... everything seams to work; lighting, angle, comp, dof, ect, ect. The only thing im not fond of is she seems a bit "orange toned".

Thanks. I used a 1/4 CTO because I wanted a warm look. That would explain the orange.

im sure someone will find something to nit pick, but honestly, these are the best portraits ive seen here so far imo.

ive been helping a couple wedding photographers in town lately, and i went out to shoot for a band this weekend. i didnt end up happy with the results. i guess i say that to say, i feel like ive been working hard to progress but i havnt so much. i can totally appreciate someone who is working hard to grow, and ive watched you progress so quickly over the past little bit. im stoked for you and a little jealous hahaha. good stuff man. keep it up.

Thanks. I can totally relate to what you're going through (that makes this sound kinda dramatic though hahaha). But seriously, it's just about getting inspired about SOMETHING. I've been wanting to do this photo at this spot for 7 or 8 months now. I needed time to let things sink in and find the perfect person for it.

Also, I just finished reading both The Moment it Clicks and The Hot Shoe Diairies, so that provided a lot of inspiration too.

Thanks. For the version I'm having printed, I've brought down the orange a bit. Maybe I'll post it.

I dont like the warmth of the second, but they are both nice nonetheless.
