I got made fun of on several occasions about my care for this lens. I definitely babied this thing. I purchased it in December of 06 and used it sparingly. I do not have the back lens cover (misplaced in June of 08) but have kept the back covered with a microcloth and rubberband.

(1) Sony NP-F970 $50; still holds full charge, used as regular battery

(1) Generic Equivalent of NP-F970 $30; used as backup battery. I have had some problems with this battery in the past, namely the display showing it had about 100 minutes of recording time left then suddenly it was out of juice.

(1) Sony NP-F330 $15; included with the camera when originally purchased, not used very frequently but still holds full charge.
Charger:
(1) Sony AC-VQ1050D AC/DC Adaptor/Charger $40; Dual battery charger with AC and DC connectors. Awesome for filming trips; charge your batteries while driving. Has display showing battery life and time til full charge.

XLR Adapter:
(1) Beachtek DXA-2s Compact XLR Adapter $100; only had for about 10 months, didn't use very often but necessary if you want to connect XLR mics.
