Stoked on the new Nanos, far better than the little fat ones.

The new iTunes seems like its the same thing with a new addition the 'genious playlists'. Not too fussed about that one. What does everyone else think??

I didnt really care for the nanos ever!
Im stoked on the firmware 2.1 to fix the bugs in my phone. Also, the new touch now has volume buttons on it like the phone. So many times Ive wanted that on my touch.

The biggest thing about the new iPods in my opinion is the shake to shuffle feature. Thats something Ive wanted for a while. Its cool that is has voice recording built in now, but you have to buy the 80 dollar headphones to make it work.

It does make me feel like less of a nerd that someone else was reading giz's coverage of the apple event.

Haha I read giz every day more than once! Yeah cant wait for the iPhone update on friday, might tempt me to 3G at last, I doubt it but maybe. Its that plastic back. You think the new iphone firmware will have the shake to shuffle? Thatd be cool.

The new nanos on apples website.
I really like the look of the new display, although nano's themselves have always seemed flimsy to me.

Same here. I check Giz and engadget two or three times a day when I have spare time.
I really think they should add that to the iPhone. Ive been waiting for someone to add that as an application but apple is such a baby about it because they wont allow apps that do anything with their applications. This is why even with the app store, I keep mine jailbroken. Im sure now that people want that function either apple, or a developer with the jailbreak team will do an app that allows the shuffle to be turned on like that.

The 3g iphone is sexy, but not worth it in my book. I have the 2g and its 15 dollars less a month for my phone plan. The 3g is so crappy in the phone that I couldn't tell a difference from mine and a 3g for page load times.

I am waiting to see if they are going to bring over the genius playlist to the iPhone. They added it to the new touch. Im also curious to see if the genius mode is even worth a crap. All other smart playlist suck.

where is everyone getting this 2G stuff from? 3G describes the type of network the phone runs on, not the generation of phone. in att's case, they have EDGE (which is pitifully slow and what the first generation iPhone runs on, as well as the second generation iPhone if you can't get a 3G signal where you are at), and the 3G network. 3G is faster, both by att's standards and my personal experiences. the new phones arent faster in regards to computer speed, but they can receive faster data rates. whoever's phone you played with must have had a shitty 3G signal or an EDGE signal.

if you have the silver backed iPhone, you have the first generation iPhone, and if you have the black or white backed ones, you have the second generation.

Edge is also refereed to as 2g.
And yes, I know which generation iPhone I have.
Your preaching to the choir if your trying to teach me about apple.

Have you not read any of the reports that talk about how shitty ATT's 3g is, or any of the articles about how slow it really is. I have personally used both. I saw no real differance in speed when using my iPhone, when compared to the second generation Iphone.

whoops. oh well. ill take back the 2G/3G stuff, but i still think its kind of a retarded interchange.

my 3G is blazing fast when i have 5 bars. i guess it helps that i'm always in chicago where the 3G signals are inescapable. att has/had a map up about where the 3G was and where it wasn't, and in my area its stayed pretty true to what they said. i guess its just a case by case scenario, but my experience has been pleasant so far.

IMO, this is the first ipod (Aside from the touch series) that outdoes zune. Good job apple.
